{"id":7492,"date":"2025-10-23T14:13:27","date_gmt":"2025-10-23T18:13:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.welshofharpersferry.com\/?post_type=evidence&amp;p=7492"},"modified":"2025-10-23T14:13:27","modified_gmt":"2025-10-23T18:13:27","slug":"naturalization-intent-thomas-kiernan","status":"publish","type":"evidence","link":"https:\/\/migration.welshofharpersferry.com\/?evidence=naturalization-intent-thomas-kiernan","title":{"rendered":"Naturalization Intent: Thomas Kiernan"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thomas Kiernan, a native of Ireland, who has lately arrived in the United States and is desirous of being naturalized a citizen thereof this day appeared in Court and in the pursuance of the act of Congress, made a report of himself, which report is in the following words, to wit: &#8220;I, Thomas Kiernan, make the following report of myself to the County Court of Jefferson of Jefferson County in the State of Virginia, that is to say, I report that I was born in the County of Cavan, in Ireland, in August in the year 1810, being now in the 33rd year of my age, that I am a subject of Victoria the 1st Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, owing allegiance to that monarch and none other; that I immigrated from Ireland to the United States in the year 1837, and that I intend to settle myself in Jefferson County, in the State of Virginia, one of the United States. Given under my hand this 15th day of April, 1844.
