{"id":3693,"date":"2018-07-13T06:59:25","date_gmt":"2018-07-13T10:59:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.welshofharpersferry.com\/?post_type=evidence&amp;p=3693"},"modified":"2018-07-13T06:59:25","modified_gmt":"2018-07-13T10:59:25","slug":"obituary-michael-welsh","status":"publish","type":"evidence","link":"https:\/\/migration.welshofharpersferry.com\/?evidence=obituary-michael-welsh","title":{"rendered":"Obituary: Michael Welsh"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Michael Welsh.<\/p>\n<p>Michael Welsh, a veteran of the Confederate army and highly respected resident of Hollidaysburg, died at his home, 1010 Church street, on Saturday morning at 9 o&#8217;clock, of paralysis, resulting from an accident in which he figured in June, 1919, when he fell and severely injured himself when alighting from a truck. He was never able to walk since the accident. He was born in Maryland, and was aged 76 years, 7 months and 9 days. Deceased was married in Virginia to Mary Howard, and has been a resident of Hollidaysburg since September, 1889. For some years he was a foreman for a contracting company. During the Civil war he was a soldier in the Confederate ranks under Colonel John Knott, and was considered a model soldier. During his residence here he had been a member of St. Mary&#8217;s Catholic church at 9 o&#8217;clock Tuesday monring and two sons&#8211; John Welsh, of Johnstown, and Thomas, at home.
