Echo-Pilot contains the following account of the recent wedding of Mr. John G. Flanagan and Miss Bertha D. Spickler: \u201cThe Miller Homestead\u201d near Mason and Dixon, the scene of so many joyous occasions, was filled with youth and beauty on Thursday night, June 3d. The specious parlor had been draped in white and beautifully decorated with choicest evergreens. The family initials of the contracting parties in evergreen were intertwined with festoons and garlands of surpassing beauty. At seven o\u2019clock the beautiful strains of Mendelssohn\u2019s wedding march burst upon the ear, played by Miss Grace Eby. The bridal party proceeded to the parlor and in the presence of the immediate relatives of the family, Mr. John G. Flanagan and Miss Bertha D. Spickler spoke the vows that made them husband and wife. Rev. T. O. Keister officiating. During the ceremony Miss Eby placed the aria from DeKoven, \u201cOh, promise me.\u201d Whilst the newly wedded pair were receiving the congratulations of their relatives and friends Miss Eby played the bridal march from Lohengrin. The bride is a sister of Mrs. Frank Miller, with whom she has made her home for two years. She wore a handsome traveling dress of postman\u2019s blue broadcloth and carried a bouquet of Marechal Neil roses. The groom is a successful business man of Bakerton, W. Va., and was attired in full evening dress. The attendants were Mr. R. H. Mohler, of Bakerton, and Miss Jane Scott Miller, of Middleburg. After the ceremony a delightful luncheon was served consisting of the choicest delicacies of the season together with the substantials of life. The tastefully decorated dining-room and table, the youth and beauty of the company, the abundant good cheer and genuine whole-souled hospitality of the host and hostness, made it an experience never to be forgotten. Mr. and Mrs. Flanagan left soon after the ceremony for an extended bridal tour. They will be at home to their friends and acquaintances at Bakerton, after June 15.
