Former Congressman Joseph E. Thropp, of Pennsylvania, owner of the Virginia ore bank, near Harper’s Ferry, has commenced operations at the mine, which was shut down for over a year. An injunction restraining him from operating a large ore washes at that place was perpetuated recently by the United States Court, as the mud from a machine polluted the stream so as to make it impossible for the Harper’s Ferry Paper Company to operate its mill below. A tract of land was purchased and settling pools built. The plant will employ a large force of men when running on full time. — Hagerstown Globe.
