  • Kaldenback: Member of Noisy Euchre Club

    The Noisy Euchre Club held its first prize game at the residence of the president, A. W. Neff, 434 I street northwest, Wednesday, March 7. The ladies’ prize was won by Mrs. T. D. Shnopp. The gentleman’s prize by James Edelen. Booby prize by T. D. Shnopp. The members present were Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Matchett, Mr. and Mrs. T. D. Shnopp, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Neff, Mrs. F. I. Ruppert, Mrs. Ed. Kaldenback, Mrs. M. Heard, Mrs. Phil Carr, Mrs. Charles Kaldenback, Mrs. McWilliams, and the Misses Mamie and Blanche Kaldenback, Emma Beckert, Mamie Drexler, Flo Ruppert, and A. G. Homer, George Wilson, John T. Shnopp, James Edelen, and Curtis De Vaughn. After refreshments were served, a musical program was given by members of the club.

  • Kaldenback, Juror in Seelhorst Case

    The case against Seelhorst was called at 10:35 a.m., and in ten minutes the following jury had been selected to try the case: William J. Truitt, Frank A. Gibbons, Nicholas Fitzgerald, Jacob Spliedt, George Ellerbrook, John A. Pierpont, Charles E. Kaldenback, Robert L. Pendleton, Harvey M. Ellis, Edward Stunkel, Michael A. Griffin, and Alexander Jackson.

  • Marriage of Blanche Kaldenback and H. T. Sinclair.

    Mrs. Ella C. Kaldenback announces the marriage of her daughter, Blanche Josephine, to Henry T. Sinclair at the Sacred Heart rectory Friday, August 22. Mr. and Mrs. Sinclair left for a trip North. After September 15 they will be at home at 441S Fourteenth street northwest.

    GRAND JURY RETURNS MANY INDICTMENTS
    Ignores Charge of Violating Policy Law Against Johnson.

    The grand jury for the January term in its final presentment reported indictments against the following persons for offenses mentioned: Charles R. Erdman, violation of section 4746, Revised Statutes of the United States; Robert Bradley and William Welch, violation of the United States pension law; John F. Cornell, violation of the postal law; William Buckner and Elijah Buckner, larceny; Ada Cross, housebreaking; Leonard Griebel, Arthur G. Homer, Patrick J. Fingles, William Danster, William Simpson, W. C. Jones, embezzlement; Alice Jackson, and John Field, assault with a dangerous weapon; Richard H. Dunbar and Isaac Cartel, false pretenses; French J. Miller, Floyd T. Holland, William E. Sharer, John W. Taylor, W. H. Flaherty, William F. Nevitt, embezzlement; Samuel V. Young, false pretenses.

    The jury ignored the charge of violation of the policy law against Samuel Johnson.
