The Shenandoah Valley Depot in this place was burned on Sunday morning last about 3:30 o’clock. When first discovered the fire was well under way. It is not known how it originated. The building was frame and was quickly consumed. The contents– furniture, a trunk or so and some books– were destroyed. Articles in the fire-proof safe are safe. The loss is probably $2,000; the insurance $1,000. The night was calm and the building being somewhat isolated, there was no damage to other property. For the present the north end of the freight house will be used as a passenger depot.
