Work has been discontinued at the Virginia ore-bank between Shepherdstown and Harper’s Ferry, the Savery Company having had it stopped. The washing of the ore discolors the water so that the pulp mill could not be operated. A number of hands are thrown out of employment by the closing of the ore-bank.
