FIRE.
On Friday morning last, one of the blacksmith shops belonging to the United States’ Armory at Harpers-Ferry, was consumed by fire. The loss was not very considerable, there being but little wood connected with the building. Some inconvenience will result to some of the workmen, by throwing them out of employment for a short time. No blame is attached to any one for the burning– the roof having, on many former occasions, taken fire. The necessity is now apparent of using slate, tin, or copper roofs, for such buildings.
